When I was a kid, my mother had given a red and white scarf that her mother had made her that was a checkered pattern.  this was my attempt to try to see if I could duplicate the pattern.

This scarf ended up getting pulled apart- I made it way too tight- so the whole thing curled AND dropped a stitch in the middle of it which I didnt realize until later on. Live and learn.
